Wolves are close to settling a compensation agreement with Sporting Lisbon for goalkeeper Rui Patricio, which will cost the Premier League club around £15m, according to Sky sources.
The Portuguese international cancelled his contract with Sporting in the summer, along with eight other first-team players, following serious disruption at the club that included an attack on the squad by masked intruders at the training ground in May.
Patricio, who says his departure was a mutual parting of ways, arrived at Molineux in the summer on a four-year deal after playing over 300 times for the Lisbon side.
Sporting accused the Euro 2016 winner of a breach of contract, and complained to FIFA, originally claiming they wanted £50m in compensation for the player.
However, Sky Sports News understand that following lengthy talks between the two clubs there is broad agreement on a deal which will cost Wolves less than a third of what the Portuguese club wanted.
