Defender rejects chance to talk to Wolves

Skysports.com understands Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne has rejected a possible move to Wolves. Wolves agreed a fee with Palace's administrators for the highly-rated full-back as Mick McCarthy looks to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer deadline. Clyne is regarded as one of the best young players outside the top flight and a number of clubs were believed to be tracking him. Wolves made their move for Clyne as they hoped to capitalise on Palace's financial problems, but the 18-year-old has snubbed their overtures. Joint administrator Brendan Guilfoyle has confirmed they had accepted a bid from Wolves, but that Clyne was not interested in a move to Molineux. "Nathaniel Clyne was given permission to speak to Wolves after they agreed a fee for his services, but he has refused to open talks with him," Guilfoyle told skysports.com.
