No more running for Ronald Koeman after his touchline sprint

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman took off down the touchline to celebrate Sadio Mane's late winner against Liverpool on Sunday.

But the Saints boss, who had surgery on his Achilles last year, has vowed to leave the wild celebrations to his players from now on.

Sadio Mane inspired a stunning second-half Southampton fightback against Liverpool

Mane's low drive capped a remarkable comeback for the south coast side, as they overturned a 2-0 first-half deficit to beat Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool 3-2 at St Mary's.

And Koeman, who turned 53 on Monday, has promised to make it his one and only touchline sprint.

"It is the first time and I think the last time, I am still tired," Koeman said after the game.

"That happened because it was a must-win game for us today and when you are really down after half-time you need to do everything to go on and believe in yourself and score the first goal to get really feeling you can come back in the result.

"That makes it special and emotional."
