Southampton have appointed former England international Marieanne Spacey-Cale MBE as head of the club's girls and women's football technical department
The 52-year-old left her role with the FA as England Women's player and coach developer to join the Saints.
She will be based at the Staplewood Campus on a full-time basis where she will be responsible for managing all girls and women's coaching and performance staff, as well as overseeing the development of the club's regional talent club programme.
Speaking about her appointment, Spacey-Cale said: "From the moment I walked into the club the excitement has continued to rise.
"Listening to the people, the plans for the future and the potential impact that this club can have on women's and girls' football, not just in the region, but in England and beyond, is fantastic.
"This is an opportunity to be part of a project that has got a solid foundation, but like anything, we'll have to grow and build to become something bigger and better.
"I'm excited for the future of women's football here."
Spacey-Cale is a UEFA Pro License holder and was assistant to former England women's manager Mark Sampson.
