Uruguayan on brink of move

Gaston Ramirez looks set to finalise his move to Southampton from Bologna on Friday, after the Italians bolstered their own squad. Talks have been ongoing between Southampton and the Serie A outfit for weeks, with the Uruguayan ace having already agreed terms with the Premier League new boys. His former club Penarol are also due a cut of the transfer, and that has also delayed matters further, but that too looks to have been resolved. Bologna are now reported to have sanctioned his departure for a fee worth €14million (£11million) after they did their own business in the last 24 hours. The Rossoblu have brought in midfielder Michele Pazienza from Juventus and have also agreed a deal for Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino.
