Southampton boss Ronald Koeman admits the futures of Morgan Schneiderlin and Toby Alderweireld remain unclear.
Midfielder Schneiderlin and defender Alderweireld were standout performers in an impressive season at St Mary's as Saints finished seventh in the Premier League.
However, France international Schneiderlin, who reported back to pre-season training with Southampton on Monday, is a transfer target for Manchester United and Koeman fears he could yet be lured away from the south coast.
"We have some doubts about players," he said. "We have the situation with Morgan Schneiderlin, we will have to wait what will happen.
"Until now, we have not a serious bid for him from Man United. We will wait, but OK - that's business that normally starts from now."
Belgium centre-back Alderweireld has returned to Atletico Madrid following his loan spell at the club, but Koeman hopes a deal can be reached for his return.
"The player likes to stay, we like to keep the player but it's a little difficulty at the moment with Atletico Madrid, I have a good hope he will stay for Southampton," he added.
After losing a host of key players last summer, including Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw, Koeman is adamant history will not repeat itself this year.
"We have the experience from last season - it will be not the same this season, but we are prepared for everything."
