Mark Hughes hints at permanent Stoke deal for Bruno Martins Indi

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has suggested the club are looking into signing Bruno Martins Indi on a permanent deal from Porto in January.

The 24-year-old Netherlands defender joined produced some excellent performances since signing from Porto on a season-long loan in the summer.

Mark Hughes admitted his side were second best in defeat at Arsenal

Martins Indi has started 12 Premier League games and Hughes says the centre-back has been a welcome addition to the dressing room.

After his side were beaten 3-1 at Arsenal on Saturday, Hughes said of Martins Indi: "He's done really well.

"I have to say that, since he's been here, whenever he's gone up against quality, he's acquitted himself really well more often than not.

"He's a great guy around the place and he's beyond his years. He's only 24 years of age, but has an old head on his shoulders . He wants to do well in the Premier League and we want that to be with us if we can."
