Slavisa Jokanovic has declined an offer from Stoke City to interview for their vacant managerial post, Sky Sports News understands.

Jokanovic was approached following the sacking of Gary Rowett on Tuesday but after initial discussions, it became clear the job was not right for the former Fulham manager at the current time.

Stoke's selection panel will consist of chairman Peter Coates, his son and vice-chairman John Coates, and chief executive Tony Scholes.

They have begun drawing up a shortlist of candidates to succeed Rowett, and Jokanovic was one of the names on their list.
