Potters in talks with MLS over defender deal

Sky Sports understands Stoke City are close to agreeing a deal to sign Houston Dynamo defender Geoff Cameron. The Potters are in talks with Major League Soccer about a move for the highly-rated United States international. Everton have also expressed an interest in signing the 26-year-old, but it appears Stoke are in pole position to bring Cameron to England. Stoke have watched Cameron, who can play in midfield as well as defence, several times and they are now thought to be close to agreeing a $2.7million (£1.7million) fee with MLS for Cameron's signature. Cameron is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League and Stoke are hoping to get the green light to bring him over to the Britannia Stadium.
