Jose Semedo has been released by Sheffield Wednesday, one of six players deemed surplus to requirements by the Owls.
The 32-year-old Portuguese defender leaves Wednesday after six seasons and 167 appearances.
The Owls finished fourth in the Championship table and were beaten on penalties at the semi-final stage of the play-offs.
Also departing the club are Claude Dielna, Darryl Lachman, Vincent Sasso, Urby Emanuelson and Modou Sougou.
French defender Sasso scored twice in 14 outings this season, while wide-man Emanuelson featured just once.
As for Dielna, Lachman and Sougou, the trio have all been playing their football away from Sheffield having been loaned out by manager Carlos Carvalhal.
Meanwhile, on-loan wingers Will Buckley and Callum McManaman will be returning to Sunderland and West Brom respectively.
Confirming the departures, a short statement on the club's website reads: "The Owls would like to thank them for their services and wish them well for the future."
