Carlos Carvalhal believes this weekend's Steel City derby has come at a good time for in-form Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls boss said: "We have 11 points from the last five games, with three difficult games away - Cardiff, Burton and Fulham.
"But it's not just the points but the performance. We are playing better and better. And we've had one full week to prepare for the game."
As for the passions generated by the Sheffield derby, he added: "I understand the emotional environment.
"This is something I understand since I arrived in Sheffield. It's not just three points, it's more than three points and we need to be focused.
"What I wish is everything is done in peace, no fights, no problems. At the end one team will be happy, the other not happy, but I hope everyone goes home calm and understands it's a game, not a war."
And the Portuguese boss admits he would be delighted if the Steel City derby could become a permanent fixture in the Premier League.
He went on: "I hope it can happen. Good for the region and I think the way the people live and breathe football in this city, they deserve teams in the Premier League."
