Lex Immers has joined Cardiff City on a permanent two-year contract.
Immers impressed during a loan spell with the Championship club after joining from Feyenoord in January.
The 29-year-old Dutch midfielder, who scored five goals in 15 appearances for the Bluebirds, leaves the Eredivisie side after four years.
"It only took one meeting with the CEO for me to know that this was where I wanted to be," Immers told Cardiff's website.
"My family are already settled in Cardiff and the rapport I have with the fans is something I want to nurture going forward. This is a fantastic club with ambition that matches my own."
Lex will officially become a Cardiff player on July 1 when the summer transfer window opens and is the first signing since the lifting of the FFP embargo on May 7.
"We're delighted to be officially welcoming Lex to the Cardiff City family," added Cardiff executive director and CEO Ken Choo.
"The impact he made during his time on loan was significant, and we feel that he is the right fit for the future we see for the Football Club.
"A number of other clubs wanted him this summer, but I'm thrilled that he has shown such commitment and loyalty to us."
