Neil Warnock says Cardiff are not thinking about automatic Championship promotion

Neil Warnock says Cardiff have the "worst run-in of anybody" as they battle for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

With nine games remaining in the Championship, second-placed Cardiff trail leaders Wolves by three points but remain seven points ahead of Aston Villa in the play-off positions.

However, Warnock insists his squad are not even discussing the prospect of automatic promotion ahead of their huge clash against play-off rivals Derby on Sunday, live on Sky Sports Football.

"We've got some really difficult fixtures on paper - we've got the worst run-in of anybody I think," said Warnock.

"We just don't get carried away, there's going to be losses between now and the end of the season, we've just got to pick ourselves up and get on with the next one and make a fight of it really.

"We didn't think we'd be anywhere near where we are, so I don't see why we don't enjoy it. I think when you start expectations you're likely to disappoint so we don't have any we get on with it really.
