Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has revealed that plans for a new stadium are moving quickly.

Parish says the club are expecting to make a major announcement about the location of the proposed new ground before Christmas.

Palace have been discussing a move away from Selhurst Park for some time and Parish believes significant progress has now been made.

Speaking at a supporters' Christmas event on Tuesday night, he said: "Everyone knows we've been working very hard for a long time to try and get the right idea.

"We think we now have got it so, this side of Christmas, there will be a major announcement.

"When I came into this thing the aim was to give something for all of us to be proud of on the pitch and very importantly off the pitch, so we want to give everybody, the people of Croydon, all of south London, a stadium that we can be proud of, and not lose our atmosphere and our uniqueness.

"That's a dream for me, a lifelong dream for me, and one that hopefully everybody will share with me when they see what we have put together.
