Jim Magilton has confirmed Brighton's approach for Darren Currie and Dean Bowditch.
Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed Brighton's approach for midfielder Darren Currie and striker Dean Bowditch.
Currie spent six months at the Withdean Stadium before joining Town in November 2004, while Bowditch had a loan spell with the Seagulls earlier this season.
Magilton told Ipswich's website: "Brighton have made an enquiry about Darren and Dean. But it's been no more than that at this stage.
"Millwall have also asked about Darren but again that's not gone further."
Meanwhile, Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan has revealed the initial transfer fee for Jon Walters' move to Ipswich was £100,000.
The 23-year-old striker made the move to Portman Road last week for what was a previously undisclosed amount.
But Vaughan told the club's website: "I wouldn't normally comment on specific transfer fees but some of the figures bandied about have been way off.
"We will receive £100,000 from Ipswich in the next seven days and it could rise to £200,000 but the harsh reality is that it is performance related and depends on not only the player, but on Ipswich achieving certain targets."
Chester have also agreed a fee with Boston for midfielder Brad Maylett.
Vaughan added: "We have agreed a fee but there are a number of pieces in the jigsaw which still have to come together."
