Ipswich defender has eyes on double ton

Gareth McAuley has set his sights on reaching a double century of appearances for Ipswich after bringing up his ton. The Northern Ireland international defender celebrated his 100th outing for the Tractor Boys with the winning goal away to Sheffield United on Saturday. Victory at Bramall Lane lifted Roy Keane's men back into the play-off places and McAuley is keen to keep the pressure on the teams above them. The former Lincoln and Leicester player also has longer term ambitions of continuing to ply his trade with the Portman Road outfit for many years to come.

Keep going

He said: "We're on a run, and we want to keep it going. "Hopefully, we can maintain this momentum because we want to stick in behind the top two. "It was nice to get the win, in my 100th game. "It's the first time that I have managed to make 100 appearances for a club. It would be great to keep that going and perhaps even double it up."
