Burnley boss Sean Dyche rues 'frustrating' late defeat to Liverpool

Sean Dyche was left with a "horrible feeling" after Burnley conceded a late goal to lose 2-1 to Liverpool on New Year's Day.
The Clarets looked to have snatched a point when Johann Gudmundsson cancelled out Sadio Mane's opener in the 88th minute.
However, Ragnar Klavan headed home deep into injury-time to secure victory for Liverpool.
"I thought we had done enough to earn another point," said Clarets boss Dyche.
"We're so frustrated with a soft goal right at the end but impressed with the mentality: superb physically, tactically very good - particularly defensively - and there is so much to be pleased with. But we're left with that horrible feeling."
Burnley remain seventh in the Premier League after the defeat, but have now not won in five matches.
Still, they are six points away from matching their 40-point mark from last season, and Dyche said: "The way we have moved forward as a club in the last calendar year is terrific.
"It's a group of players who are developing and improving all the time and they are becoming a bit more assured about themselves in this division. That was a good show of it today.
"We are stretched at the moment, we are missing players, but I believe in every part of the squad. I thought that was on show."
Asked what impressed him most about his side in 2017, he said: "We have adjusted it. We are playing in a more mixed fashion now, which I believe in. Last year we had to get the ball forward a lot quicker, and we are finding a calmness to our play and more assuredness.
"We are still searching for that increasing cutting edge which is difficult in the Premier League. We have stayed very resolute defensively. We have added to what we are, rather than take it all away and restart it. There is still the work ethic and feel to the group and demand to work for every inch of what we can get but the quality has risen slightly and the awareness and understanding of the Premier League. That has to continue.
"To be on 34 points, and unfortunate not to be on 35 after today, after a tough Christmas period with injuries and suspensions you have to say it's been a very good season so far."
