Third spell for Johnrose

Burnley have signed popular midfielder Lenny Johnrose for the third time, beating off rival interest from Huddersfield Town.

The former Bury man has joined The Clarets on a deal that will run until the end of the season as Stan Ternent's men look to avoid relegation to Division Two.

After parting company with Swansea City this week, the 34-year-old has accepted the chance to return to Turf Moor, becoming Ternent's second capture on deadline day following the arrival of Dele Adebola from Coventry City.

Johnrose first signed for Burnley back in 1999 and re-signed in 2002 after initially being released.

The experienced hard-man had been in talks with Huddersfield this week but opted for a return to Lancashire.
