Striker signs three-and-a-half year contract at Turf Moor
Burnley have confirmed the signing of highly-rated striker Charlie Austin from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.
Skysports.com revealed earlier on Friday that the Clarets were set to win the race for Austin, who had attracted interest from several clubs.
Fellow Championship side Ipswich Town had also agreed a fee with Swindon, while Blackpool and Southampton had shown an interest in Austin.
However, it is new Burnley boss Eddie Howe who has won the battle for the 21-year-old, who scored 37 goals in 65 appearances for Swindon.
Austin will have to wait to make his Clarets debut, though, as he is ineligible for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie against Burton after playing for Swindon earlier in the competition.
