Norwich defender Timm Klose has not taken part in training this week and is struggling to face relegation rivals Sunderland on Saturday, according to Sky sources.

The Swiss centre half jarred his knee when falling in the first half of last weekend's defeat at Crystal Palace.

It is understood that, having seen a specialist, Klose was advised to rest the joint and has not even returned to jogging.

Sky sources understand Sebastian Bassong is likely to replace Klose if he fails to recover in time.

Norwich, who lost 1-0 at Palace on Saturday, are seeking back-to-back victories at Carrow Road having defeated Newcastle 3-2 on April  2.

The Black Cats crucially have a game in hand over Norwich - a home match against Everton on May 11.
