Norwich boss Alex Neil expects every game in the Sky Bet Championship next season to be a tough challenge following the release of the 2016/17 fixture list.

The Canaries were relegated to the Championship last term after one season in the top flight, but Neil insists his players are looking forward, not back, as they prepare for their opening game at Blackburn on August 6.

"Blackburn is going to be a tough game, but it's one we're looking forward to," Neil told the club's official website.

"Before we last played them, the club didn't have a great record up there. However, we managed to fix that the last time we went there and it helped get us to the Premier League.

"We've then got a couple of home games, which hopefully gives us a good chance of making a good start. It's important we do that in order to give us a platform to build upon."

Norwich's first home game is against Sheffield Wednesday on August 13 followed by the visit of Bristol City three days later.

"Everybody is now focused fully on this year, rather than last year, which is good," Neil added.
