Norwich midfielder Alex Tettey has signed a new two-year contract.

The Norway international, who moved to Norfolk from Rennes in 2012, has committed to the club until 2018.

Tettey was part of the Canaries squad relegated from the Premier League in 2014, and last season, but won promotion from the Sky Bet Championship in 2015 after they beat Middlesbrough in the play-off final.

"I'm delighted because if I'm here in 2018 it means I will have been here for six years," he told Norwich City TV.

"That would be the same amount of time I spent with my former club in Norway, which is a really big deal for me. I'm very pleased with the faith and trust Norwich have put in since I've been here."
