Canaries boss says youngster is doing 'okay' after racist taunts
Paul Lambert has spoken with Tom Adeyemi after learning that the youngster was subjected to racist abuse at Anfield on Friday.
The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on loan at Oldham from Norwich and was involved in the Latics' 5-1 FA Cup third round defeat to Liverpool.
It was during the second half of that fixture that he claims to have been the subject of racist abuse from the stands.
The matter has been reported to the police, while Liverpool have also vowed to get to the bottom of the issue.
Lambert was concerned about how the incident may have affected Adeyemi but, having held talks with him, he is happy with how things are being handled.
"I spoke to him last night after the game," said Lambert, whose side beat Burnley 4-1 at Carrow Road on Saturday to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Private
"He is okay, which is pleasing, but I am sure Liverpool Football Club will do it properly, investigate what has happened.
"I can't comment on what actually happened, but Tom himself, which is the most important thing, is okay.
"What we said will remain private, but he is fine, which is the main thing for me.
"He is only a kid learning the game, one of the nicest lads you will ever meet, a really intelligent lad and he is okay.
"I am sure Liverpool Football Club and the good people up there will investigate it and will deal with it accordingly.
"The main concern for me was Tom was okay."
