Boss delighted with home record amid struggles on the road

Brendan Rodgers has praised the mental strength of his Swansea side as the Welsh club look to maintain their fantastic Premier League home record against QPR on Tuesday evening. The Swans - yet to win on the road - have been outstanding at the Liberty Stadium, losing just once in eight games, a defeat which came in a 1-0 loss to champions Manchester United. Rodgers, who saw his team lose on their travels again in a 1-0 reverse to Everton last Wednesday, is thrilled that his players have not let away results knock their confidence. Swansea have shipped just two League goals at home and Rodgers said: "It shows the strength of the group in terms of their mentality. "There's no doubt that across the year it has not been outstanding away from home. But no matter how your away form develops, you can still have success.

Excellent

"Look at Manchester United. Their away form wasn't great last year, but they had excellent home form and won the title. As long as we pick up points it does not matter if they come home or away. "For any team at this level to concede only two goals at home up to Christmas is a hell of an achievement." But Rodgers is wary of Neil Warnock's visitors - who have claimed three victories on the road already. "They will be confident going into this game because of their away record," admitted Rodgers. "They've spent some money and got some players in that they hope will help them stay in the League." Swansea - who sit two points and one place clear of Rangers - head into the clash having won just one of their last seven League games, while QPR have lost three in a row.
