QPR boss to look into foul-mouthed tweet
Mark Hughes plans to speak with Federico Macheda over a foul-mouthed tweet allegedly posted by the striker after Queens Park Rangers' draw with Everton.
The on-loan Manchester United striker has been left out of the side recently and was not included in the 18-man squad that held Everton 1-1 at Loftus Road.
Macheda, who was charged earlier this week for a previous comment made on
Twitter, wrote after the match: "Totally p****d off...this is not what i deserve! **** all!!!!!"
When told of the post, Hughes said: "What is he talking about? Perhaps he has broken a watch or dropped his phone.
"Who knows what he has done. You're assuming it is about the game and not being involved.
"Until I speak to him I can't really comment, can I?"
Asked what action would be taken if it is about selection for the Everton match, the Welshman retorted: "Well, when I know it is I will come back and talk about it, but I can't talk about it because that is the first I've heard about it."
He added: "Why we are talking about a player who was not in the squad?
"I would rather talk about the guys who worked their b******s off today, to be perfectly honest, rather than somebody that wasn't even in the squad, don't you think?"
Could be better
The tweet was subsequently deleted and the strength of Macheda's feelings remain unclear.
The Italian was more considered in his assessment of how things were going at QPR when he gave an interview in his homeland earlier this week.
While admitting that he would like to be playing more regularly, Macheda could understand that a new manager would have his own ideas and was prepared to wait for a chance.
He told
tuttomercatoweb.com: "At QPR it's going pretty good, but things could be better.
"Mr (Neil) Warnock, who wanted and took me, was sacked just three days after my arrival.
"Then Hughes took (Djibril) Cisse and (Bobby) Zamora and at the moment they are playing more.
"However, as soon as I get the chance, I want to prove that I can deserve a starting spot."
