Rs youngster pens new two-year contract at Loftus Road

Michael Harriman has signed a new contract with Queens Park Rangers that ties him to the club until 2014. The Republic of Ireland youth international made his debut for the Hoops in August, during a 2-0 defeat to Rochdale, but only managed one other appearance during the course of the season, coming on for the final 30 minutes of QPR's defeat at Wigan. But the 19-year-old defender is hoping to stake a claim for a regular place in Mark Hughes' side after securing his Loftus Road future. He told the club's official website: "I've been at the club for a while now and there's no other place that I'd rather be at the moment. "The club's got some big ambitions and I'm hoping to be a part of those. "My aim over the next couple of years is to try and become a regular in the first team side."
