Leicester City's Demarai Gray had a lucky escape after almost walking into the tail rotor blades of a helicopter prior to Sunday's PFA Awards in London.

The 19-year-old winger was screamed at by officials at Battersea Heliport before being escorted away from the area by a steward.

A fleet of five helicopters ferried the Leicester squad to the awards soon after their thumping win over Swansea City took them a step closer to the Premier League title.

Gray was the first player to emerge from his helicopter and headed towards the rear of the aircraft after taking a wrong turn.

The 19-year-old appeared oblivious to the danger of the rear rotor but a quick-thinking steward intervened and ordered him to stop when he was just feet away from the spinning blades.

Riyad Mahrez, who picked up the PFA player of the year gong later in the evening, watched in horror from inside the helicopter as the events unfolded.

Mahrez also made the PFA's team of the year along with Foxes team-mates Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan and N'Golo Kante.
