Midfielder Harvey Barnes, one of the Leicester City's brightest prospects, has signed a new four-year contract.

The 19-year-old has been with the club's academy since the age of nine and made his senior debut in the Champions League last season, coming off the bench in the 5-0 defeat against Porto.

Barnes went on to score six goals in a loan spell with League One side MK Dons over the second half of 2017-18 and was part of England's winning squad at the U20 Toulon Tournament.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said: "Harvey's a really exciting young player and it's been a real pleasure to watch him develop, particularly during the last year where he's been regularly involved in the first-team set-up.

"The way he took to his loan spell at MK Dons - his first experience of league football - speaks volumes both for his quality as a player and his maturity as a young man.
