Michael Appleton leaves Leicester assistant manager role amid coaching restructure
Foxes confirm Appleton leaves club with "immediate effect"

Michael Appleton has left his position as assistant manager at Leicester City, with the club announcing a restructure of Claude Puel’s coaching staff.
Appleton joined Leicester as Craig Shakespeare's assistant last June before continuing the role under Puel but Jacques Bonnevay, most recently part of the Japan coaching setup, has now taken on the position ahead of the new season.
Pascal Planque and Mike Stowell remain part of Puel's backroom team while Adam Sadler completes the senior coaching team after moving from his position as tactical analyst to first team coach.
"As we prepare to welcome the players back for the start of pre-season, I'm delighted to have a strong team of experienced, skilled and dedicated staff working to prepare the squad for the season ahead," Puel said.
"Between our coaching, sports medicine, sports science and operational staff, we have a very good mix of characters and experience that will give great support to our players throughout the season.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Appleton for everything he has done to help me during his time with the Club. He's a good man, a strong character and an excellent coach with the leadership qualities to continue building a successful career. We all wish him well in his future career."
Bonnevay has nearly 20 years' experience in coaching, including spells in his native France with Troyes and Nantes while he has also coached Morocco and Turkey.
Puel and the rest of his coaching staff will begin their preparations for the Premier League season on Monday, when the first group of players report back for training.
Those who have featured in international matches since June 2 will have their return to pre-season training staggered over the coming weeks.
