Striker facing two months on the sidelines
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson expects to be without Matty Fryatt for around eight weeks after the striker underwent surgery on a fractured jaw.
Fryatt, who has scored 12 goals this season, suffered the injury during the goalless draw against Doncaster on Tuesday night in a challenge with Rovers captain Brian Stock.
Pearson has confirmed the surgery has been successful, but that the highly-rated forward faces up to eight weeks on the sidelines.
"He's had surgery already on one of the fractures," Pearson told the club's
official website.
"He's seen the surgeon again today (Thursday) to see if there needs to be any further surgery but as far as I know at this moment in time everything has gone to plan.
"We are looking at about eight weeks. It's a loss because he's our leading scorer.
"It's a shame for him and the team but the most important thing is that he's OK. It just means that someone else will get an opportunity in the team."
