Martin O'Neill odds-on favourite to be next Leicester boss with Sky Bet

Former Leicester City boss Martin O'Neill has been backed to odds-on favourite with Sky Bet to return to the club as manager.

O'Neill enjoyed great success in charge of the Foxes between 1995 and 2000, guiding the club to two League Cup victories before leaving for Scottish giants Celtic.

The 63-year-old is currently in charge of the Republic of Ireland as they bid to qualify for the Euro 2016 finals in France, but speculation has linked him with a return to the King Power Stadium.

O'Neill was backed to 10/11 favourite in Sky Bet's next Leicester City manager market on Friday morning as the Foxes search for a new boss after sacking Nigel Pearson.

Sky Bet’s PR director, Dale Tempest, said: "The money has been pouring in for Martin O’Neill all morning and many punters have been backing him at 1/4 on.

"We've had three or four different favourites for this job so far but this is the one that will grab the headlines and excite all Leicester fans."

Former United States coach Bob Bradley (5/1), Bolton chief Neil Lennon (6/1) and ex-Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri (6/1) are other names at the head of Sky Bet's market.
