Hull midfielder Robert Snodgrass could be out for up to four weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage at the weekend.

The 29-year-old is therefore likely to miss Scotland's eagerly-anticipated World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley on November 11.

Snodgrass has been a key member of the Hull squad this season but he left the KCOM Stadium in a protective boot and on crutches after Saturday's 2-0 loss to Stoke.

And Hull announced on Tuesday: "Scans have confirmed that Robert Snodgrass sustained ankle ligament damage during Saturday's Premier League fixture against Stoke City.

"The Scottish international is expected to be ruled out for up to four weeks."

The injury means Snodgrass will miss Tuesday's EFL Cup tie at Bristol City, as well as up to four Premier League matches.

And he will also be absent when Gordon Strachan's Scotland side look to kick-start their World Cup qualifying campaign at Wembley next month.
