Hull have been successful in their appeal against Oumar Niasse's weekend red card.

The striker was controversially dismissed by ref Bobby Madley in the 25th minute of Saturday's 2-0 win over Watford for a high foot on M'Baye Niang.

Niasse would have been facing a three-match ban for the straight red but Hull have now had the decision overturned on appeal and the Everton loanee will be available for Saturday's game at Southampton.

Former ref Dermot Gallagher told Sky Sports News HQ on Monday that he considered the red card to be harsh.

"I did not think it was a red at the time when I saw it live," said Gallagher.

"I have had all weekend to look at this over and over again, and I have seen nothing to think that is a red card.
