Seb Larsson is in talks to sign for Hull City on a free transfer, according to Sky sources.
The 32-year-old Sweden international is a free agent after leaving Sunderland following their relegation from the Premier League.
Larsson would bring a wealth of experience to the Tigers squad, having begun his career in England with Arsenal, before making over 150 appearances for both Birmingham and Sunderland.
There has been interest in Larsson from other countries but he is reportedly hoping to continue his career in England.
And Hull, who are now managed by Leonid Slutsky, may have Larsson in their ranks for Saturday's Championship game at home to Burton.
Slutsky began life at Hull with a creditable 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Saturday.
