Hull defender Paul McShane admits team-mate Stephen Hunt would be a 'big miss' if he left the club.
Tigers winger Hunt has been the subject of three failed transfer bids from relegation rivals Wolves, who Hull play in the Premier League at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
Wolves are expected to make a final bid for the Republic of Ireland international before the end of the January transfer window on Monday, but club and international team-mate McShane wants him to stay put.
"He has done very well here, he has worked really hard and scored a few vital goals," he said.
"He gives 100 per cent on the training ground and pitch and certainly gets his rewards from it.
"I think he is a big part of the team and a great lad to have around the place.
"He is full of enthusiasm and that rubs off on people.
"If he wants to go he would be a big miss."
Persistence
Wolves' latest bid was reported to be £4million, and with Hull short of cash, the Molineux outfit may be confident of getting their man.
But McShane believes the whole saga will not be a distraction for Hunt, who moved to the KC from Reading last summer.
"He's been involved in transfer sagas before," he added.
"He knows how to deal with it and just lets it happen, doesn't let anything really bog him down or get in the way of his football.
"I think they are just trying to nick one of our good players.
"I don't really know what is going on, but he is fine about it. He is just letting it go over his head and is not getting unsettled by it."
