Hull City boss Iain Dowie has ended Egyptian striker Amr Zaki's stay with the Tigers after deciding he was not fit enough to play a part in their on-going relegation battle.
The 27-year-old frontman moved to the KC Stadium in January in a loan deal from parent club El Zamalek until the end of the season.
But he failed to score in six appearances for the Tigers before picking up a knee injury at the start of last month.
Dowie now believes the striker is not at the fitness level needed for the English top-flight and he has ended his stay in East Yorkshire.
The Hull boss, whose side take on Sunderland at the KC on Saturday, said: "It's over. He was injured in preparation for the first game I had and since then he hasn't been fit.

"I had a look at him in training the other day and I didn't think he was going to be anywhere near the level we'd expect in terms of fitness so I just said it was right for him to go home.
"He won't be playing for us for the rest of the season."
Zaki moved to Wigan on loan last season and at first made a big impression, scoring five goals in his first five games.
But he angered then manager Steve Bruce by consistently returning late from international duty and his last Premier League goal came in December 2008.
