Hull City midfielder Robbie Brady has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks after suffering a calf injury.
The 23-year-old was involved in a freak accident when falling down a hole during a training session.
Hull manager Steve Bruce will take some comfort from the news, as he feared the player’s season could have been over.
Bruce revealed after his side's 1-0 Premier League defeat at Stoke on Saturday that the incident had happened 24 hours earlier.
Before confirmation of the extent of the Republic of Ireland international's condition, Bruce said: "Unfortunately Brady has fallen down a hole in the training ground and it looks an awful injury, I have to say.
"We won't know the extent of it until he has had scans. After seeing him on Friday I doubt he will be available for weeks. It could be the rest of the season."
