Giuseppe Bellusci has returned to Italy to join Empoli on loan after a difficult spell at Leeds.
The 26-year-old moved to Elland Road from Catania two years ago but controversy and poor performances marred his experience in West Yorkshire.
Serie A club Empoli have offered Bellusci an escape route by recruiting him on a season-long loan deal, with the Tuscans holding an option to sign the former Italy Under-21 international permanently.
A statement published on empolicalcio.net on Friday afternoon confirmed the switch.
