Whites dynamo hoping to stay for the long term
Leeds United midfielder Adam Clayton insists he wants to stay with the Elland Road outfit for a 'very long time'.
The 22-year-old joined from Manchester City last season, although he initially found first-team opportunities hard to come by.
Following the summer departures of Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson the youngster has grasped his chance with both hands.
The former Milton Keynes Dons and Peterborough loanee has greatly impressed this season with a number of eye-catching displays.
Clayton is tied to Leeds until the summer of 2013 and has now revealed he wants to commit his long-term future to the club.
"I would love to stay at Leeds for a very long time," he told
Yorkshire Radio.
"I have not even thought about leaving, it's not even crossed my mind. I am more than happy at the moment."
Mistakes
Meanwhile, Clayton is hoping the team can cut down on the number of individual mistakes they are committing in order to secure more Championship points.
Leeds were leading 2-0 at Brighton before another defensive collapse, although Clayton does not think vast changes are required.
"I don't think anyone is tearing us apart and we're not fearing anyone," he added on the club's
official website. "It's been more a case of individual mistakes in games.
"But it's a great group of lads here and everyone is in it together. When we go behind, we never stop and we try and get back in the game, and we've done that.
"We have to cut the mistakes out and stay in front in games and when we do we'll move up the league and will be contenders."
