KNEE WOE FOR COYNE

LUTON TOWN have confirmed that defender Chris Coyne has knee ligament damage and is likely to be sidelined for around six weeks.

The Australian suffered a nasty looking injury against Rushden & Diamonds before Christmas, and a scan confirmed he sustained ligament damage.

"Chris Coyne has ligament damage to his knee," said club physiotherapist Bruce Sewell. "He had a scan and saw the specialist and he says it will be four to six weeks."

Sewell is hoping for the best, adding: "We need to look after him now and he needs lots of rest. It depends on how he heals, but if I get him back in four weeks, I'll be delighted."

Coyne has been a regular for The Hatters this term and manager Joe Kinnear will hope he makes a swift recovery.
