Bradford will be boosted by the return of James Meredith, Rory McArdle and Lee Evans for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Barnsley.

Defenders Meredith (Australia) and McArdle (Northern Ireland), plus midfielder Evans (Wales Under-21s) have all been on international duty and will be assessed.

West Ham loanee Reece Burke is still away with the England Under-20s squad and fellow defender Christopher Routis is doubtful due to a calf injury.

Winger Mark Marshall, striker James Hanson and midfielder Billy Knott are pushing for recalls.

Barnsley trio Conor Wilkinson (Republic of Ireland Under-21s), Simeon Jackson (Canada) and Dan Crowley (England Under-19s) are still on international duty.

Head coach Lee Johnson has no major new injury or suspension problems but on-loan Swindon striker Michael Smith is ineligible.

Winger Ryan Williams (groin) is hoping to return to first-team action later this month and on-loan Manchester United midfielder Joe Rothwell, scheduled to have his tonsils removed, will be monitored.
