Doncaster are likely to hand a debut to new midfield signing Conor Grant in the home clash with Colchester after he arrived on a month's loan from Everton this week.

Manager Darren Ferguson is also hoping to add a new defender to his squad before the game, with Gary MacKenzie sidelined by a thigh strain and Rob Jones only resuming training this week.

On-loan striker Keshi Anderson missed the midweek defeat at Millwall with a foot injury but it is thought he could be back in contention against the Us.

Fellow forward Nathan Tyson played the full 90 minutes in midweek having overcome a dead leg and he is expected to be involved once again.

Defender Matt Briggs is available again for Colchester after missing the 4-4 draw with Walsall due to illness.

Strikers Chris Porter (knee) and Gavin Massey (calf) are out, though.

Richard Brindley (bone bruising) and fellow defender Kane Vincent-Young (Achilles) are out until mid-November.
