Port Vale have Kjell Knops and Sam Hart available again for the visit of Northampton.

The defenders missed the 4-0 FA Cup win over Hartlepool through suspension and are not guaranteed to go straight back into the starting line-up after the Valiants swept into the third round.

Vale's injury problems persist with only forward Jerome Thomas (hamstring) looking likely to have a chance of returning this weekend.

Martin Paterson, Sam Foley, Anton Forrester and Ben Purkiss are still out as Bruno Ribeiro's team look for a first victory in four Sky Bet League One matches.

Northampton defender Brendan Moloney misses out after knee surgery this week.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury during last month's defeat against Peterborough and Cobblers boss Rob Page confirmed that Moloney could be sidelined for "six to eight weeks."

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole is suspended and serves the final game of his two-match ban.
