Saturday 15 August 2026 17:18, UK
Ten-man Huddersfield saw off Wimbledon to claim a 3-0 victory on the opening day of the League One season.
The hosts raced into the lead after just four minutes as Joe Taylor robbed Zack Nelson before playing in Derensili Sanches Fernandes to score on his league debut.
Ilias Bronkhorst hit the post as Huddersfield maintained their momentum, and Sanches Fernandes deservedly doubled their lead by curling home a fine finish.

The Dutchman had a chance to complete a hat-trick inside half an hour off another Taylor ball, but slipped as he tried to apply the finish, and teammate Bali Mumba was shown a straight red card after diving in to try and win back the loose ball.
Ryan Johnson headed home from a Wimbledon corner on 71 minutes, but the flag went up for offside against Marcus Browne, who was standing in the goalkeeper's line of sight.
Substitute Bojan Radulovic put the result beyond doubt seven minutes later, applying a simple finish after a brilliant run up the wing by centre-back Radinio Balker.
