Thomas Butler has been rewared with a new long-term deal at Swansea.

New deal for wide man

Thomas Butler has signed new deal at Swansea. The former Sunderland man has been rewarded with a new long-term deal after helping Swansea win the League One championship. Butler joins Alan Tate, Shaun MacDonald and Owain Tudur-Jones in agreeing a new deal at the Championship-bound side. Swans boss Roberto Martines believes Butler fully deserves his new contract. "Tom has been a very consistent performer this season," said Martinez. "He's a better and more mature player than when he first arrived. "He had his best campaign for the club this season and to have someone who can play on the left or right with the same effectiveness is a huge bonus and asset." Meanwhile, Swansea captain Garry Monk, Dennis Lawrence, Kevin Austin and Kristian O'Leary have all been offered one-year extensions at the Liberty Stadium.
