Striker impresses Jackett with his progress

Millwall have rewarded striker Ashley Grimes with a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2011. Grimes joined the Lions from Manchester City at the start of the season and has made 10 appearances to date. His deal was due to expire in the summer, but Grimes has now signed a fresh two-and-a-half year deal at the Den. Lions boss Kenny Jackett has been pleased with the 22-year-old's progress and is confident there is more to come. "Ashley came here with plenty of talent and potential, but over the past few months he has worked hard on his game and developed physically as well," Jackett told the club's official website. "I believe he will be a real asset to this club in the coming months and years." Grimes added: "I'm delighted to have signed. I'm loving it here and I just want to enjoy playing football and help Millwall be successful."
