Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has revealed midfielder Adam Miller has rejected the chance to have his contract cancelled at Priestfield.
Miller is back with Gillingham after a two-month loan spell at Dagenham & Redbridge and he was an unused substitute for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Colchester United.
Dagenham had been keen to sign Miller on a permanent basis, with Gillingham not demanding a fee, but were unable to afford his wages.
Stimson has now confirmed the Gills offered the 27-year-old the opportunity to leave the League One club on a free transfer, but the deal was turned down.
The Gills manager has now moved on from that situation and has praised Miller's attitude since he returned to the club from Dagenham.
"Adam and his people have refused the agreement we've offered," Stimson told
Kent Online. "With Adam, that's it. It's done.
"We had two sessions, Thursday and Friday, and Miller was probably the one jumping out and saying 'play me, go on', but you have to think about it because the reception he got walking in front of me before the game was nothing short of abysmal from certain grown men."
