Young Reading goalkeeper to stay with Glovers

Yeovil have extended the loan spell of goalkeeper Alex McCarthy from Reading. The 20-year-old joined the Glovers over the summer and has already admitted he is keen to stay at Huish Park for the rest of the campaign. McCarthy's stint with the League One club has now been extended for a further month after all parties reached an agreement. The young shot-stopper, who has enjoyed previous loan spells with Aldershot and Cambridge, has made 24 appearances for Terry Skiverton's side this season. McCarthy is now set to be between the posts for Tuesday night's League One meeting with Tranmere at Prenton Park.
