Jennings in Scunthorpe medical

Sky Sports understands Scunthorpe are closing in on the signing of Stalybridge Celtic striker Connor Jennings. The Iron have been chasing Jennings for some time and had a bid rejected for his services last month. However, the League One side are believed to have upped their offer and have now been given permission to talk to the 19-year-old. Jennings is thought to be undergoing a medical at Glanford Park ahead of securing his switch to the club. The highly-rated forward has been in fine form for the Blue Square Bet North outfit this season, scoring 19 goals in all competitions and Iron boss Alan Knill will be happy to have landed one of his top targets in this month's transfer window.
