Colchester have signed striker Marvin Sordell following his release by Burnley.
The 24-year-old will add some extra options to the United attack for manager Tony Humes, whose side have yet to win this season.
Former Watford trainee Sordell played for Burnley in the Barclays Premier League last season, and featured for the start of the Clarets' Sky Bet Championship campaign, but was released at the end of the summer transfer window.
Sordell is expected to go straight into Colchester's squad for Saturday's trip to Chesterfield.
